Chantelle's path to hearing care started with language. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, majoring in linguistics with a double minor in Portuguese and Spanish, a reflection of a deeper interest in how people connect across cultures and what gets lost (or found) in translation.
After graduating, she moved to South Korea and worked as an ESL teacher, helping students navigate communication in a language that wasn't their own. The experience surfaced something she hadn't expected: a real interest in the practical, day-to-day work of helping people communicate when communication is hard. That interest is what eventually brought her into audiology.
When she returned to Toronto, Chantelle completed the Communicative Disorders Assistant program at Durham College, building the clinical foundation for working with patients who have hearing and communication needs. She's currently pursuing her Hearing Instrument Specialist accreditation.
At Toronto Hearing Consultants, Chantelle works alongside Natasha to support patient care, keep appointments running smoothly, and help patients feel informed throughout their visit.
The multilingual piece matters more than it sounds on paper. She supports patients in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, meaning patients who are more comfortable in a language other than English don't have to navigate hearing care, already technical and unfamiliar, in a second language. For Toronto's Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking communities, particularly older patients whose first language remains the one they think and feel in, that's a meaningful difference.
She's known for her warm, approachable manner and a calm patience that helps patients feel at ease, particularly on first visits when the clinical environment can feel overwhelming.

Outside the clinic, Chantelle teaches painting lessons, practices yoga, gardens both indoors and outdoors, and works on crochet projects, quiet hands-on work, the same kind of attention and patience she brings into the practice.
