How our hearing services work.

At Toronto Hearing Consultants, our hearing clinic services are built around comprehensive assessment, clinical insight, and personalized care. As an independent, audiologist-led clinic with convenient Toronto locations, we focus on understanding how hearing and communication affect your daily life before discussing any recommendations.

Our audiologist services support hearing health for children age 3 and up and adults, from routine hearing tests to complex hearing concerns, workplace requirements, pediatric care, and long-term follow-up.

This approach allows us to address hearing health comprehensively, including related concerns such as tinnitus, auditory processing challenges, and hearing difficulties. Preventive measures and treatment options are discussed only when clinically appropriate, without pressure or assumptions.

It starts with the testing

Hearing tests & diagnostic services.

Diagnostic testing forms the clinical foundation of our hearing clinic services. Our audiologists provide a wide range of assessments to evaluate hearing clarity, auditory processing, and inner ear function.

Devices, plus the years that follow

Hearing aid services & ongoing support.

Our hearing aid services include professional guidance, fitting, and long-term care to support listening comfort and communication clarity. Hearing aids are introduced as part of a broader hearing healthcare plan, not as standalone solutions, and we work with all brands, makes and models. We're here to help make sure your hearing aids work for years to come.

Ongoing support, after the fitting
Often overlooked, easily addressed

Ear wax removal & ear health.

Ear wax buildup is one of the most common reasons people notice a sudden change in their hearing. It's also one of the easiest things to address with the right clinical care.

Wax can muffle sound, contribute to a sense of pressure or fullness, and make hearing tests less accurate. It also affects how well hearing aids perform, since wax can clog receivers and skew programming over time.

Our audiologists assess ear health as part of routine care and offer safe, supervised removal when needed. We use proper clinical techniques rather than the home remedies and cotton swabs that often push wax further into the canal or risk damaging the eardrum.

Removal is straightforward when done by a regulated audiologist, and for many patients it's the first step in restoring clearer hearing without the need for any other intervention.

What patients usually ask first

Hearing services FAQs.

Do you offer services for tinnitus or ringing in the ears?+

Yes. Tinnitus support typically begins with a comprehensive hearing assessment to understand hearing function and listening challenges. Depending on findings, care may include auditory evaluations, education about tinnitus, hearing aid support when appropriate, and personalized management strategies. The goal is to help reduce listening strain, improve comfort, and support daily communication rather than eliminate tinnitus entirely.

Do you provide pediatric and family hearing care?+

Yes. We offer hearing assessments and ongoing audiology care for children age 3 and up, and families. Pediatric services are delivered in an age-appropriate, supportive environment and may include coordination with recognized child hearing programs when applicable. Our audiologists work closely with families to explain results clearly and support hearing, communication, and long-term monitoring as children grow.

Do you help with insurance and hearing aid funding?+

Yes. Our team assists patients in understanding insurance coverage, third-party benefits, and available funding programs related to hearing care and hearing aids. We help explain what may be covered, what documentation is required, and how billing works, allowing patients to make informed care decisions with clarity and fewer administrative concerns.

What funding or coverage options are available?+

Funding and coverage options may include Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP), which provides up to $500 per ear toward eligible hearing aids for qualifying residents. While audiology services are not covered by OHIP, the ADP program helps offset the cost of approved devices when clinical criteria are met.

Additional support may be available through the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), Veterans Affairs Canada, and private insurance plans. Eligibility varies by program and individual circumstances. Our team can review applicable options with you and discuss payment options when appropriate to help support access to hearing care.

Is a hearing test covered by OHIP?+

Hearing tests are not covered by OHIP. However, many extended health insurance plans cover audiology assessments in full or in part, and our team can help you understand what your plan includes before you book. Fees are always explained up front, so there are no surprises at your appointment.

How long does a hearing test take?+

Most hearing assessments run about 60 minutes. That leaves room for a conversation about what you're noticing, a full diagnostic assessment, and a clear explanation of your results before any recommendations. Appointments are private and unhurried, so you have time to ask questions and understand the findings.

Is ear wax removal covered by OHIP?+

Ear wax removal is not covered by OHIP. At our clinics, removal is performed by a regulated audiologist using safe clinical techniques, and many extended health plans cover the service. We'll confirm the fee with you before any procedure.

Start with a conversation

An independent audiologist who'll listen first.

No quotas, no scripts, no sales pressure. Just an audiologist whose job is to understand what you're noticing, run the right tests, and explain what they mean in plain terms. Recommendations come after that, only when they're warranted.
